People of the World Inscribe the Bible

In 2006, on the heels of the exceptional success of Children of the World Illustrate the Bible, People of the World Inscribe the Bible was launched in conjunction with the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It is a simple yet profound concept: to inscribe the Bible in 100 languages, with the general public from the multitude of nations serving as the 'scribes'. That is, each individual hand-writes one of the 23,127 verses of the Bible being launched in his/her native tongue.

The project has met with great success, and as of today, 45 countries have hosted 82 Bible launches and completions. Indeed, 25 Bibles have already been completed - including from countries such as Taiwan, Singapore, Panama, Brazil, Guatemala, Poland, Ukraine, Argentina, and Finland - and many have already been bound and shipped to Israel.
The completed books – and the unprecedented outpouring of interfaith cooperation and fellowship - will be on display in the planned and approved Bible center at the City of David in Jerusalem.
